I’m new to Dysport; how does it work?

Dysport (aka abobotulinumtoxin A) is an injectable dermal filler that offers temporary improvement in the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrow.* For men and women who are seeking a natural look, Dysport is proven to assist in smoothing the appearance of wrinkles by relaxing facial muscles.* Similar to Botox Cosmetic, Dysport is injected directly into the target facial sites, preventing underlying muscle tissue from contracting.*

What can I expect during my appointment?

Dysport is injected into the skin with a fine needle. During this 10-15 minute procedure, most patients experience only mild discomfort, so we may apply a topical anesthetic to minimize discomfort during the session.* The amount of abobotulinumtoxin A that is used will vary, depending on the degree of the frown lines being addressed. After the treatment is finished, you can return to normal activities immediately.*

What can I expect from the results?

Though results vary, most patients can typically see a noticeable improvement in their facial lines within a couple of days.* The full effect is usually seen after a week or two.* One treatment is known to last for several months.* For ongoing results, we recommend a treatment plan of injections every 3-4 months.* This will allow you to keep seeing positive results before the effects of the previous injection fade.*
