Hello September! Even though it’s the unofficial start of fall, we’ll still be enjoying the beach life indefinitely, so stay on top of your sunscreen application!

Now that school is back in session and vacations are mostly over, it’s time for some self-care. Have you ever had a chemical peel? A chemical peel is a procedure where a licensed & trained esthetician uses chemicals to exfoliate the skin. These chemical peels can range in depth from superficial (exfoliates only the top layer of skin) to medium and deep chemical peels that penetrate and exfoliate the upper and mid-dermal layers of the skin. Medium and deep chemical peels are very effective for skin tightening, reducing the appearance of dark spots, and diminishing fine lines and wrinkles.

NEW! SkinCeuticals TCA Peel

We are so excited to share that we have added a new chemical peel to the treatment menu! SkinCeuticals Smart TCA Peel significantly improves the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, pore size, laxity, and stubborn discoloration, and it is only available through SkinCeuticals professional partners.

This aggressive peel, suitable for all skin types and tones, features a blend of 15% Trichloroacetic Acid and 3% Glycolic Acid and includes a patented post-peel restorative mask to help soothe and reduce skin temperature and inflammation immediately following the peel process.

You will definitely notice some downtime as the skin will typically peel for 4-10 days, and it is important to avoid sun exposure during the peeling process while the skin heals (so this is not a treatment to do right before vacation but will have you glowing for a future vacation!). Aftercare is explained during the appointment but it’s generally recommended to be gentle with your skincare products following this peel (no retinol or other aggressive topicals). It’s also imperative to practice diligent sunscreen use following any peel.

Our introductory price for the SkinCeuticals TCA Peel is $249 (reg. $299).

Injectable Specials

Botox

If you’ve been waiting for a Botox special, now is your time! This month, save $50 off 30+ units of Botox (reg. $11/unit).

Frequent Question: Why do we have a minimum unit requirement?

Many people are unclear on just how many units are necessary to achieve the look they want. The common areas Botox is used on are the forehead, the crow’s feet (wrinkles around the eyes), and the frown area (between the eyebrows).

We go by Allergan’s suggested dosage, which is generally 4 units into each of 5 sites in the Glabellar Lines (between the eyebrows), so that’s 20 units right there; 4 units into each of 3 sites per side for the Lateral Canthal Lines (crow’s feet) (6 total injection points) for a total of 24 units. For the forehead area, 4 units are used in each of 5 forehead sites (20 units) and 4 units into each of 5 Glabellar lines sites (20 units) for a total of 40 units. Also, please remember, individual placement and units used vary by patient, but this is a very typical scenario.

How Much Botox do I need?

It’s time for Juvederm!

We’re offering a great deal on the Juvéderm family of fillers this month to help get you ready for the holiday season!

Save $100 off 1 syringe
Save $150 off 2 syringes

What does Juvéderm do? Read on, and note, regular prices are listed.

Juvederm Voluma is a dermal filler that adds volume to the cheek area and treats age-related volume loss in the face to help create a more youthful appearance. The results are known to last for a couple of years and you will only need touch-up treatments if you want to maintain your youthful contours.

Juvederm Voluma is $895 per syringe.

Juvederm Volbella XC is a lip augmentation treatment that plumps the lips, minimizes the appearance of vertical lines around the mouth, and is actually the first lip filler that specifically addresses vertical lip lines as we age. It also has a smaller particle size, which allows for a subtle plump in the injected area for a more natural look. This formula also includes a small amount of lidocaine, which is a local anesthetic designed to reduce pain at the injection site, and it has been proven to last for at least one year.

Juvederm Volbella XC is $495 per syringe.

Juvederm Vollure XC is designed to smooth parenthesis lines and wrinkles around the nose and mouth. While it’s good to use creams and serums daily to address these areas, they are topical and can only help the top layers of the dermis. Juvederm Vollure XC goes deeper and adds volume to the area to smooth the lines and folds, resulting in subtle, longer-lasting results. In fact, Juvederm Vollure XC has been proven to last up to 18 months, which is fantastic because most other fillers only last about a year!

Juvederm Vollure XC is $695 per syringe.

How does it work?

The original formulas, Juvederm Ultra XC & Juvederm Ultra Plus XC, both use a cross-linking technology known as Hylacross. The hyaluronic acid used in fillers varies in concentration, this is what makes it work to plump up the skin. The way it does that is through the process of cross-linking – making a connection between the hyaluronic acid compounds (#sciencestuff).

Juvederm Vollure XC & Juvederm Vobella XC use a new kind of dermal technology known as Vycross, which holds the hyaluronic acid together in a stable gel that stays intact after injection, is firm enough to fill the area, but soft enough that it moves with the facial expressions. Both products contain lidocaine to help with pain.

Juvederm Ultra XC & Juvederm Ultra Plus XC are also being offered this month. These two dermal fillers are specifically for the lower facial area, including the parentheses (smile) lines, marionette lines, vertical lip lines and they can also be used to plump thinning lips.

Both these formulas are thicker, gel-based, and contain hyaluronic acid. They also both contain lidocaine, an anesthetic agent mentioned above, that helps numb the area and alleviate pain at the injection site.

What we love about both Juvederm Ultra XC & Juvederm Ultra Plus XC is that they both add immediate volume, and restore a smoother, natural appearance. One treatment is usually all that is necessary, and results typically last up to one year.

Juvederm Ultra XC is $545 per syringe.
Juvederm Ultra Plus XC is $545 per syringe.

Some things to keep in mind if you are scheduling an injectable treatment:

  • Stop taking aspirin, ibuprofen & fish oil supplements for 2 weeks prior to injection. This helps decrease bleeding & bruising at the site
  • There is minimal recovery after treatment, and you should see an immediate improvement
  • One treatment is all that is usually necessary to smooth lines, wrinkles and add volume to lips
  • Results typically last up to one year
